Last day of the fair & rodeo

Spur of the moment got a free ticket to the fair and took my daughter. We watched the 2nd half of the rodeo. Then while at the fair someone randomly gave me tickets to ride on the rides. Took Samantha to the kiddie rides so she rode on carousel, airplanes, spinning strawberries and hot air balloons. We had a blast. Oh, my camera battery went dead. Bummer! lol

Fair Time

I took my son Matty to the fair on Wednesday and his favorite animal was the cow. "Mooo!" He even got a bucking bull tattoo from the KGH booth! So much fun!

Whitman Mission and Museum trip

I know, I know...it's just like my real journaling - sporatic. You should read my written journals. Years go by before I sit down and write something. Anyone that reads them years from now will be saying what happened to her during that time? Well, three children happened. lol

We visited the Whitman Mission and Museum yesterday which I thought was poignant enough to start with.

Not knowing the story of the Whitman Mission, I decided to take my kiddos on the trek. Wow! Was I surprised that a massacre was held there. Lovely.
It was quite picturesque on the contrary.

We met a couple of moms there with their kids and had some fun in the sun.

A light breeze stayed with us as we walked the tour. The grounds were immaculate and just beautiful.

I decided to take the kids up the hill to the main memorial. It was not very far at all. I was quite surprised and they enjoyed it too. The view was so great!

Too many pictures so I put the rest in a slide show if you are interested in seeing more:

Valaney's Custom Necklaces

Cannot keep up

With all daily ins and outs, plus 3 kiddos, time gets away from me. I have orders for jewelry and cannot even post on my etsy because they are sold before I get to post them just by word of mouth. That and a lot of custom orders. Here is one I made yesterday.

8.Did you have morning sickness? Heck yeah! All through the pregnancy! Yuck! It was more like all day and all night sickness.

9. What did you crave? taco bell nacho cheese and their plain bean burritos. Couldn't get enough of the cheese with their plain chips. It drove me insane. Oh and I craved the scent and feel of rubber. Did not eat it, but loved the smell and texture. So weird!

I don't like peanut butter, but....

I love peanut butter cookies and whatever else is flavored with it. It's the texture and the overpowering actual flavor of peanut butter I don't like.

So....I decided to try a recipe for peanut butter cupcakes!
Oh they are yummy!

Peanut Butter Cupcakes:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1.2 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened (I used margarine)

1 1/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar

2 eggs

1/3 cup salted peanut butter, crunchy or smooth (I used creamy Jif)

1 cup whole milk (I used 2%)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract extract

1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Prepare cupcake tins as directed in the recipe you are following.

2. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together into a large bowl.

3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter together into a large bowl.

4. Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat after each addition until light and fluffy.

5. Add the peanut butter and mix well.

6. In a small bowl, combine the milk and vanilla.

7.To the butter mixture, add about one quarter of the flour mixture and mix well. Add about one quarter of the milk mixture and mix well. Continue alternating the flour mixture and milk mixture, beating after each addition until smooth.

8. Pour the batter into the cupcake tins. Bake for 18-23 minutes, until the cake springs back when touched. (I took mine out at 20 minutes)

9. Remove from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes, then turn the cupcakes out of the tins and onto a rack to finish cooling completely.

Got milk?
